We are very pleased to announce that we have received the DJ AM + DJ Premier East vs West Quickstrikes. Having known Adam since about 2002, I can say he is one of the few true sneakerheads that did it for the love of the shoes. I remember going through some of the grimiest neighborhoods in Chicago, searching through sneaker stockrooms in basements and attics and coming up on some real gems. At one particular spot, Diana’s Shoes (long gone now, sorry guys) at 63rd and Halsted in their old location before they moved, I came across several Jewel Swoosh Air Force 1’s and Trainer Huarache’s from the 90’s in multiple colors. If anyone has ever been in their stockroom before they moved, they can tell you it was a literal gold mine of 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s Nike and Jordan sneakers. Imagine going through stacks upon stacks (200,000+ pairs easily, no exaggeration) and finding original Jordan 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, 5’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8’s, 9’s, 10’s 12’s, Bo Jackson’s Griffey’s, Deion’s, Barkley’s, etc. I wish I still had pictures of just the stockroom, it was like walking back in time. It was the most crazy sneaker experience ever.  I am glad to have had the chance to experience it. When I got home and showed Adam the pictures, he said DUUUUUUUUUUDE you have to send me everything you have in 11.5 or 12. I had 5 or 6 pairs in his size, and sent them out to him right away, he tried to pay me $1,000, but I declined his offer and only charged him what I paid which was around $300 or so. Then when Nike SB first hit the scene he got me all the 2nd series dunks along with extra pairs of the 1st series, which I already had from my other LA homies Croationstyle and  DJ Ben Baller. He only charged me $60 a pair, even though they were selling for $150 or so at that time, and are worth several hundreds each nowadays. These are 2 of the earliest memories I have of dealing with AM. Over the years we swapped sneakers dozens of times. Another passion of his and mine was/is poker. For the last several years he would hit me up, whenever he got knocked out of the main event at the World Series of Poker. Always dreaming of playing there myself, it was really cool talking to someone who was actually doing it.

We are honored to be carrying the shoe he designed, which unfortunately has turned into a tribute shoe now that he is gone. Truly one of the best DJ’s to ever touch the decks.

R.I.P. ADAM
